ch62
by BlankTLGal Dragon had rarely felt so unbored lately.
For centuries, as this planet revolved around its sun countless times, life had been nothing but monotonous.
Compared to his perfect existence, the world was filled with clumsy, inadequate things.
Most creatures on this planet were killed by others before fulfilling their natural lifespans, or they lived short lives, crushed by their own destinies.
They were too primitive to warrant attention, and even if he did pay attention, they lived only for a fleeting moment compared to him.
Realizing this, Gal Dragon had gradually lost interest in everything, ceasing to find anything other than himself intriguing.
From then on, he simply existed.
It was a meaningless extension of life.
Among the insignificant creatures of nature, some took their own lives, but just as he couldn’t find a reason to live, he couldn’t find a reason to die.
As a perfect being, he was immune to the curse of oblivion that plagued lesser creatures.
The layers of consciousness accumulated meaninglessly day by day became burdensome, and at some point, he began to periodically fall into long periods of slumber.
He merely repeated this act, unable to live in the present, clinging to vague hopes for the future.
Each time he awoke and ventured outside his nest, the evolution of these insignificant creatures was so slow that catching up to him seemed impossible.
Something welled up within his chest, but he couldn’t identify the cause.
And then came this fourth awakening.
This awakening was somewhat special.
Gal Dragon sensed an irritating presence entering his territory.
Not a natural creature, but an artificially created one.
A life form created by the great ape who crawled on the ground, yet coveted his essence and principles.
After a major battle in the past, they had avoided encroaching on each other’s territories, but while he was asleep, the ape seemed to have created and released creatures resembling him, called Titans, and was raising them.
After tearing apart a few of the unsightly, gluttonous abominations wandering through his garden, he flew straight to the ape and attacked him from the sky, inflicting a wound on his body.
The ape was ignorant of his place, but his origin and status were the same as his own.
He knew that even if they fought, it wouldn’t be a proper match like before, so he intended to inflict a light wound as a warning not to trespass on his territory.
However, when the great ape, Terato, was wounded by his attack and bled, something perplexing happened.
The blood that Terato shed touched the ground and turned into creatures like the Titans he had torn apart earlier.
He was taken aback because Terato didn’t have such an ability when they fought in the past.
He quickly retreated, but hundreds of Titans created from Terato’s blood roamed outside, causing trouble.
While cleaning up the debris that wandered around mindlessly, devastating his territory, Gal Dragon encountered her.
A small Elf.
While cleaning up Terato’s remnants with the help of the Spirits, he received her location from the Spirits as usual, and she reacted to his momentary attack.
At first, he was angry at the monkey, smaller than a mushroom, for interrupting his attempt to quickly finish the annoying task and return.
He intended to tear her apart in an instant, but surprisingly, this monkey withstood all of his attacks.
Not only that, but she processed the Mana within her body and forged weapons to cut him down.
As the most perfect being in this world, he knew.
Even though the power was weak, the ‘concept’ that made up that energy was optimized to kill him.
It wasn’t just natural Mana that existed everywhere and waited to be observed, but energy that had been filtered and processed by a will and a world.
He was intrigued.
He remembered seeing a species similar to this small monkey in the south in the past.
Weak monkeys with no fur or claws.
They were nothing special except for using objects in nature to create slightly more precise tools.
But the small monkey before him grasped and wielded the principles of this world.
Was she even one-thousandth of his mass?
Yet, astonishingly, with only a small stick in hand, that tiny being stood against him as an equal, considering only physical elements.
Only then did Gal Dragon begin to examine the small monkey properly.
‘Beautiful.’
Rarely, interest sparked in Gal Dragon’s eyes.
The Titans created by the ignorant great ape, Terato, were extremely unrefined creatures, befitting their master’s level.
The monkeys living in the south, similar to this monkey, might have been better than the Titans, but they were still similarly ugly.
But this monkey was different.
She was like a monkey created by some being with proportions that anyone would artificially deem the most beautiful.
Indeed, he could feel the energy emanating from a life form that defied the laws of nature.
And when he saw the fur on her head, the same color as his scales, reflecting the sun and rippling like waves every time they clashed, he thought it was truly beautiful.
But what was even more beautiful was her interior.
His eyes, which belonged to a perfect being who had completed and mastered his own world since birth, could see the flow of Mana.
That’s why he couldn’t help but marvel at the movement of the Mana flowing within this monkey.
The intricately moving Mana created the most perfect answer every moment.
Unlike him, who simply controlled, dominated, and suppressed, he couldn’t find even a single flaw in that beautiful principle.
Their innate status was so different that she was destined to lose, but he was still captivated by this rare and miraculous being.
Gal Dragon felt emotions he hadn’t felt in a long time: desire and possessiveness.
He had rarely felt desire and possessiveness towards anything in the world.
The only hobby he had was collecting materials with the same color as his scales, and occasionally stones with unique colors found in nature.
Sometimes he would even create and process these materials himself.
But even that had become a matter of habit, and now he only collected them occasionally when he had to go outside his nest.
Ultimately, it was difficult to maintain interest in inanimate objects with predictable outcomes for a long time.
But this small monkey was different.
She changed unpredictably every moment, even during their brief clash.
Mana turned into lightning. It turned into flames.
While wielding solid matter, she constantly changed the principles to respond.
How could a mere creature be capable of this?
Even he didn’t think he could manipulate Mana in so many different ways.
Gal Dragon was curious to see how far this monkey’s actions could go.
It wouldn’t be difficult to kill her if he used his full power, but he wanted to see more. He wanted to possess her.
The Titans, who were butting in without a sense of the situation, were annoying, but every time he tried to tear them apart, the small monkey interfered.
A desperate emotion was outwardly apparent.
This small monkey was surprisingly trying to protect the Titans, who were much larger than her, feeling sorry for them. The opposite would be normal in nature.
He was a little disappointed when she thwarted a dangerous strike aimed at his core in an instant, and when he showed his authority, she seemed to lose heart for a moment, but he was satisfied.
He was truly satisfied for the first time in a long time, and he would finally have this small monkey.
When he asked her name, he liked her confident demeanor as she boldly asked him back, even in a situation where defeat was becoming certain.
The name Araya somehow felt good.
He even felt grateful to the El-Prigion tree that had created such a being.
After killing and playing with the Titans who had bothered him for the last time, instead of killing them neatly, Gal Dragon was about to take Araya to his nest when his expectations were shattered once again.
Before his eyes, a small world was newly born.
That small but firm world encroached on the space controlled by his world and seized some of its control.
Seeing that, Gal Dragon didn’t even care about the Titans escaping and was completely captivated by Araya.
How could a mere, insignificant being have used some trick to become an existence with the same status as him?
He intuitively realized that it wasn’t a permanent phenomenon like him, Terato, or Prigion, but even excluding that, it was a miraculous event.
It wouldn’t have surprised him this much even if an earthworm grew wings and flew in the sky, devouring beasts 100 times its size.
He wanted her. He really wanted her.
He wanted to make her completely his.
More than everything he had collected in his nest for a long time.
More than the territory he had lived in and cultivated for a long time.
He wanted to possess only Araya completely.
Araya resisted Gal Dragon to the end.
Every time, Gal Dragon grew anxious.
He felt sorry every time he saw Araya’s status being chipped away before his eyes.
Even when he shouted at her to give up and quickly become his, even when he tried to suppress her with all his might, she never gave him an opening.
After three suns and moons had passed.
Gal Dragon resigned himself in anger.
When he saw Araya reaching her limit, he sensed that his desire would ultimately not be fulfilled.
Therefore, he used his full power, which he hadn’t used since his fight with Terato long ago, to eliminate even the slightest lingering feelings and erase her.
But even that surpassed his expectations, and when she finally endured it.
Seeing Araya in tatters, the lingering feelings he couldn’t erase led him to bring Araya to his nest.
Even if it was impossible to restore the shattered world, he restored the exterior as much as possible.
In the place where he kept his treasures in the nest.
He placed Araya, his most precious treasure, at the very top, where she could be seen most clearly.
After that, he kept watching her until she woke up, and Araya woke up while he was away dealing with the remaining remnants of Terato.
For Gal Dragon, Araya was a delightful being to watch.
The sight of a creature smaller than one of his claws looking around, watching his every move.
Moreover, she was a creature that satisfied his aesthetic sense, so he was even more satisfied.
A beautiful face and eyes. Fur the same color as his scales.
Besides, the body, which had been covered and hidden by green material, was also beautiful.
Limbs that were straight and well-proportioned, and skin as white as snow.
Contrary to her seemingly delicate appearance, her body, firmly built with well-developed muscles in various places, felt magnificent even to the aesthetic sense of another creature.
What he liked most was that she had no unnecessary fat.
A perfect creature should be completed by himself alone.
Such a being had no reason to pass on the information of life to the future through the act of reproduction and childbirth.
Therefore, organs that produced milk to nurture offspring were meaningless.
They were cumbersome, taking up unnecessary volume and receiving more resistance from air or water than necessary.
That’s why Gal Dragon looked at his new treasure with a regretful expression as she tried to create and wear clothing that covered her body again.
